Berkeley Carroll School Awarded Contract for Mass Notification System to ATI

EAST BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) FEBRUARY 02, 2013

Acoustic Technology, Inc. (ATI Systems), the world’s leading provider of intelligible Mass Notifications Systems (MNS), was recently awarded a contract from the Berkeley Carroll School to provide an MNS. The system will assist and alert students, teachers, and staff in the event of an emergency and allow school leadership to rapidly communicate critical response information.

“ATI mass notification systems are capable of providing highly intelligible, lifesaving instructions and directions to the local school and occupants”, remarked Dr. Ray Bassiouni, President and CEO of ATI Systems. “When every second counts, the powerful and highly intelligible broadcasts from ATI MNS ensure that every communication is heard and understood throughout school buildings.”

Berkeley Carroll is an independent, college preparatory day school providing coeducational programs for children in prekindergarten through grade 12 [K-12]. Officially chartered by New York State in 1886, Berkeley Carroll is one of the oldest independent schools in New York City. The school is located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.

ATI Systems was awarded the contract to provide a complete indoor notification system capable of providing real-time emergency and essential information. The system consists of seven (7) Indoor Speaker Units (ISUs) and is controlled by a central Control Station (CS). Each ISU can provide 400 watts of acoustic power to provide speaker coverage in the designated buildings of the school.

The Indoor Speaker System is activated via wireless radio frequency. The central Control Station is used for activating, controlling and monitoring the entire system.

The central Control Station is configured with ATI Systems’ proprietary MassAlert software. This software features advanced graphics and monitoring capabilities that contribute to a simple, intuitive interface, which is easy to use even in the most stressful emergency situations. ATI’s advanced MassAlert software utilizes a graphical user interface for overall control and monitoring of the system. MassAlert provides system zoning capabilities that allow selective activation of some or all.
